Are women finally getting the roles they deserve?

This year both Emma Thompson and Anne Hathaway weighed into the heavy debate of female ageism in Hollywood.

But maybe things are looking up for the women of Hollywood?

Sandra Bullock will soon appear in upcoming film Our Brand is Crisis. She plays a political strategist brought in to do the impossible. Originally written for George Clooney, the lead role switched to a female lead when Bullock expressed interest.

Bullock is also set to star in an all female Oceanís Eleven. The iconic 2001 film had a stellar male line up including George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Bullock will have the starring role with the other female leads yet to be announced. Gender swapping seems to be the new penchant of Hollywood. Oceanís Eleven follows hot on the heels of an all female Ghostbusters, starring Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Wiig. Filming has just wrapped on this project.

We are thinking Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway would make terrific additions to the new Oceanís Eleven.
