By Sophia Whitfield

This dark thriller will keep you up at night. The chilling tale, by debut author Darcey Bell, has attracted much interest with the film rights already sold and Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick tipped to play the main roles.

The story starts with a simple favour. Single mother Stephanie agrees to look after her friend Emily’s son for a few hours after school. Despite their differences Emily and Stephanie spark a friendship that is mirrored by their sons. Emily is a high-powered PR executive and Stephanie a stay at home Mum who overshares on her personal blog. Both have dark secrets that threaten to be revealed.

When Emily fails to return to pick up her son Stephanie begins to panic. She wasn’t asked to look after Nicky overnight and Stephanie knows she would never leave her son. In order to discover more about her friend’s disappearance Stephanie uses her blog to reach out to other mothers.

As she grieves the loss of her friend, and puts her energy into helping Nicky’s son adjust to his new life without his mother, she finds herself growing closer to Emily’s husband, Sean. But her murky past lurks in the background and if its revealed could shatter the life she has created her herself and her son.
