Beasts of No Nation starring Idris Elba (Luther) will be the first Netflix drama to premiere at the Venice film festival this Thursday. Directed by Cary Fukunaga, the talent behind the first season of True Detective, Beasts of No Nation follows a commandant fighting with the militia during an African war. When civil war tears a family apart, a young West African boy is forced to join the commandant's mercenary fighters and transform into a child soldier.

Beasts of No Nation will premiere on Netflix in October.
