Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunters on Netflix

Netflix has announced that the TV adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s bestselling The Mortal Instruments series will be released on January 13.

Shadowhunters, the name of the TV adaptation, will air the day after it’s broadcast in the US on ABC.

Gill Evans, fiction publisher of Walker Books, said: “Cassie’s many fans in the UK and other international territories have been waiting eagerly to hear news of the Shadowhunters TV series. We’re delighted that Netflix will be showing it so soon after the US release, so that existing fans and a whole new audience can share in the excitement of this amazing series brought to live on TV.”

Shadowhunters stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, and Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland.

About the book:
Sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is an ordinary teenager, who likes hanging out in Brooklyn with her friends. But everything changes the night she witnesses a murder, committed by a group of teens armed with medieval weaponry.

The murderous group are Shadowhunters, secret warriors dedicated to driving demons out of this dimension and back into their own.
