Based on the bestselling novel by Nicholas Sparks, author of The Notebook, The Best of Me is the story of two former high school sweethearts. It is a film to see with your girlfriends for a girl’s night out.

“Everyone wanted to believe that endless love was possible. She’d believed in it once, too, back when she was eighteen…”

Dawson Cole and Amanda Collier were high school sweethearts. From different backgrounds, they soon find that family events threaten their relationship inevitably tearing them apart.

Twenty years later they are reunited after the death of Tuck Hostetler, a dear friend. A friend who had once protected them from outside threats. Is this their second chance? As they adhere to Tuck’s final wishes, they go back to the place where their romance first blossomed. Confronting painful memories they discover the truth behind their past.

Dawson and Amanda soon realise that the circumstances that kept them apart twenty years ago still exist. Spanning twenty years the storyline focuses on that one unforgettable first love.

Directed by Michael Hoffman (The Last Station), The Best of Me stars Michelle Monaghan (True Detective) as Amanda Collier and James Marsden (27 Dresses) as Dawson Cole. Australian Luke Bracey (Home and Away) plays the young Dawson and Liana Liberato (Stuck in Love) the young Amanda Collier.

One for the girls!

The Best of Me opens in Australian cinemas tomorrow.
