We are delighted that Jessica joins us today to share her 8-week plan.
What prompted you to start the JSHealth community?
After moving to Australia when I was a teenager, I developed a broken relationship with food and my body – judging my self-worth by a number on the scales. After school, I began studying nutrition. In my 4th year of study I started documenting my transition from dieter to whole food eater. I would keep track of the foods and recipes I was discovering that were nourishing and healing my body and upload them to my personal blog. I was very honest and open with my struggles with food and body image. I felt the need to share my stories so I could help other young women going through the same struggles. It was just amazing to see how many girls could relate to my story. I kept sharing these stories, tips and recipes with my community - and the response was amazing.
Can you share with us four ways to change our relationship with food?
1. Start prioritising your health above all else.
2. Eat intuitively – tune into which foods make you feel great!
3. Give up the fad dieting, for life - and commit to a whole food diet instead.
4. Learn to indulge with moderation and balance - don’t restrict and deprive.
Why do you advocate quitting fad diets forever?
Quite simply, they do not work. Not only do you deprive yourself of essential nutrients you need to be your healthiest, most vibrant self – they can also cause us to have a very complex relationship with food. They can make us think about a meal in an unhealthy way, a source of stress rather than a chance to nourish the body.
Can healthy eating really be fun?
Yes. Fun, easy and satisfying. My book, full of delicious and wholesome recipes, will show you how.
What is your 8-week plan?

Tell us a little more about your new book, Living The Healthy Life?
My second book is a more practical guide to living the healthy life, with practical tips for the everyday person on how to achieve individual health goals. It caters to the person who's wanting to be healthy but doesn't know how, as well as the already health-conscious and amazing JSHealth community. It contains heart-felt anecdotes about my own health challenges and really focuses on how to have a healthier relationship with food. Plus, it contains over 160 new recipes that are all quick, easy and so delicious.
