Australian actress Isla Fisher has penned her first book and it’s a children’s book. Known for her comedy, Fisher made a name for herself in Confessions of a Shopaholic as Rebecca Bloomwood, The Girl in the Green Scarf.

Fisher’s children’s fiction series is called Marge in Charge. The central protagonist is Marge, an eccentric babysitter, who feeds her charges all the wrong things. Jemima and Jake enjoy chocolate soup and dressing up in their mum’s clothes. But after all the excitement it is Jake and Jemima that have to take charge and look after their babysitter.

The series is illustrated by Eglantine Ceulemans, and each book will be divided into three stories.

Fisher said: "I'm so delighted that Piccadilly Press will bring Marge in Charge to life - now that I have children of my own I see the joy and magic in their everyday lives and books are a crucial part of this. I hope together we can introduce Marge to as many family bedtimes as possible.”

The first book is due out in July. You can pre-order the book here.
