Whatever happened to Peter and Jane? Apparently they are all grown up and could be set for a mid-life crisis.

The Ladybird books have just had a makeover. Eight brand new Ladybird humour titles have been written for an adult readership. All eight feature original Ladybird artwork alongside brilliant, brand new text from the Jason Hazeley and Jason Morris, writers of the BBC show, Miranda.

The books will be released for the centenary celebrations of the Ladybird books.

Jason Hazeley gave us a sneak peek at his hipster book.

This is a hipster.
He is childless, unaccountably wealthy and always well turned out.
He likes art, scarves and anything reclaimed from French factories.

Maybe it’s poor Peter now?
As well as hipsters, the darkly humorous books take a look at hangovers and mid-life crisis.

The other books in the series are:
The Ladybird Book of The Hangover, The Ladybird Book of Mindfulness, The Ladybird Book of Dating, The Ladybird Book of The Shed, The Ladybird Book of The Hipster, The Ladybird Book of Mid-Life Crisis, How It Works: The Husband, How It Works: The Wife. You can buy the books here.
