Life After You is a moving true story of love, life and loss.
At the young age of 37 Lucie Brownlee finds herself a widow and her young daughter B without a father. Her husband’s sudden death seems improbable and insurmountable.
Mark’s death at such a young age leaves Lucie raging and raw. His death seems particularly cruel. It occurred as they were making love hoping for a sibling for their little girl.
In an attempt to open the curtains of grief Lucie turned to writing. Her blog, Wife After Death, became her memoir and it charts the two years following the death of her husband. It was her way of coping with her sudden loss.
Lucie discovers she has to learn to do everything for herself – from choosing coffins to finding a plumber. After a brief stay with her mother she moves into her own place with B and their newly acquired family member – Brucie, their puppy.
Lucie’s memoir is heartbreaking but tender. She writes with humour, and somewhere along the way she comes to terms with the tragic death of her husband.
