Missing, Presumed by Susie Steiner

On March 24, 2016

By Sophia Whitfield
Missing, Presumed is a smart thriller, full of twists and turns.

Beautiful Edith Hind is a Cambridge graduate, daughter of Sir Ian and Lady Hind. When she disappears under suspicious circumstance a full-scale search is mounted.

Detective Inspector Manon hears the first call on her police radio regarding Edithís disappearance and rushes to the scene where blood is splattered and coats are in disarray on the floor as if a struggle has taken place. While her private life is in disarray, Manon sees the Edith Hind case as the one to launch her career. She doggedly hunts for answers as the case takes an unexpected turn.

Edithís father, a prestigious doctor who is best friends with the Home Secretary, makes waves to ensure no stone is left unturned in the investigation into his missing daughter. The Cambridgeshire police are already under scrutiny for a previous case and are nervous about the high profile nature of Edith Hindís disappearance. They have to tread with care to ensure everything is done according to police protocol.

Edith has been missing for 72 hours and questions are beginning to be asked about her private life. Journalists camp outside the Hind home and splash their murky headlines on the front page of the tabloids sullying Edithís name.

Manon knows time is running out for Edith. She is keen to find answers and return Edith to her family.

Missing, Presumed is a perceptive look at the inner workings of the police. A thriller that will keep you up at night. Buy the book here.
