Omar Sharif dies at 83

On July 11, 2015

On Friday afternoon Omar Sharif died of a heart attack. He was 83. Sharif made his break playing the lead role in David Lean’s Lawrence of Arabia with Peter O’Toole. As a result of the film the two became firm friends.

Other memorable films include Dr Zhivago. Another David Lean film with Julie Christie. It made Sharif the heartthrob of the 60s.

His leading women included Barbara Streisand who starred with Sharif in Funny Girl..
