Amber is in a coma. From her bed she can hear her husband, her parents and her sister as they talk to her and each other. Amber, however, is unresponsive. She can only listen.

From the fragmented conversations she overhears she attempts to piece together the events that culminate in her lying in coma. She goes back to her marriage with Paul prior to her accident and further back to her childhood, as she lies, unmoving in a sterile bed.

The plot twists and turns unexpectedly with an unknown visitor causing Amber distress. She struggles to recollect important details as she attempts to discover the reason for her comatose state.
