Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

On March 31, 2017

By Sophia Whitfield

A compelling, psychological thriller, Sometimes I Lie is former BBC journalist Alice Fenney’s debut novel.

The TV rights have already been acquired for this dark, twisted tale. Feeney said: "The last five months from book deal to publication have been such a wonderful whirlwind and I'm completely overwhelmed by the response to my novel. I'm so thrilled to be working with the team at Legendary, I love what they have planned for Sometimes I Lie and I cannot wait to see Amber brought to life on screen."

Amber is in a coma. From her bed she can hear her husband, her parents and her sister as they talk to her and each other. Amber, however, is unresponsive. She can only listen.

From the fragmented conversations she overhears she attempts to piece together the events that culminate in her lying in coma. She goes back to her marriage with Paul prior to her accident and further back to her childhood, as she lies, unmoving in a sterile bed.

The plot twists and turns unexpectedly with an unknown visitor causing Amber distress. She struggles to recollect important details as she attempts to discover the reason for her comatose state.

A book you will not be able to put down until you have read the final page. You can buy the book here in Australia and here in the UK.
