There was a time when the Pirelli calendar was filled with naked supermodels. Last year they began a dedicated campaign to change their approach, turning away from the sought perfection of the ultimate body shape and instead celebrating the natural woman.

Annie Leibowitz photographed stars for the 2016 calendar including Amy Schumer, Serena Williams and Yoko Ono.

This year Peter Lindbergh has photographed actresses encouraging them to wear little to no make-up. They include Julianne Moore, 55, Uma Thurman, 46, Robin Wright, 50, Helen Mirren, 71, and Kate Winslet, 41. The images are shot in black and white with no airbrushing.

Speaking at a launch event for the calendar, Lindbergh said: “In a time when women are represented in the media and everywhere else, as ambassadors of perfection and youth, I thought it was important to remind everyone that there is a different beauty.”

You can watch the actresses being photographed below.
