The iconic Sophia Loren captured by Mandy Maria

On May 21, 2014

Mandy Maria is a design graduate from Aberdeen’s Gray’s School of Art, she lives in sunny Glasgow with her husband Mark where she works as an illustrator.

“I love the concept of a simple drawn line that, when repeatedly and creatively applied, can become an image that evokes an emotional response.”

Sophia Loren, featured here, is one of a series of drawings of female icons of cinema created with fine liner pen and pencil.

Along with her own self initiated projects and commercial work, Mandy creates custom portraits in her own unique style. Most recently her love of craft has opened up her world to woodcut printing.

Mandy's work is available at Etsy. You can follow her latets work on Instagram and Twitter.
