This week showcases some terrific films. In between all those Christmas parties you can put your feet up and relax with a salute to the trials of a family Christmas or an action thriller, starring Tom Cruise.

Sunday: The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader, 7.30pm, Ten

Based on the book by C.S. Lewis, Lucy and Edmund return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace. They meet up with Prince Caspian and take a trip across the sea on the royal ship, The Dawn Treader, to save Narnia.

Monday: Rick Stein’s India, 8.30pm, ABC

Stein enthuses about food as he uncovers the different cuisine available as he travels through India.

Tuesday: Miss Congeniality, 8.30pm, Nine

An FBI agent, more at home in jeans than sparkles and lip gloss, goes undercover in a beauty pageant to catch a terrorist. Starring Sandra Bullock and Michael Caine.

Wednesday: GoldenEye, 8.30pm, Seven

The first Bond film starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond and featuring Judi Dench as M.

Thursday: Person of Interest, 8.30pm, Nine

The newest Number is CEO Wayne Kruger, who makes his living brokering personal data. However, when someone starts exposing his personal life and all of its dirty secrets, Kruger vows to get revenge.

Friday: Four Holidays, 8.30pm, Nine

A couple spends the festive season with family. Starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn.

Saturday: Jack Reacher, 8.30pm, Foxtel Pemiere

Based on the book by Lee Child, Tom Cruise stars as the enigmatic Jack Reacher in this action drama.
