Illustrators bring to life picture books creating a fantastical world for children to immerse themselves in. In this video you can watch Simon Prescott as he creates the main character in his latest Christmas picture book, from rough sketch to finished art.

Simon uses traditional mediums such as pencil, pen and watercolour. By using lighting and perspective he creates drama and atmosphere in his work, along with a healthy dose of humour.

Marvin and Marigold is a delightful series about two mice who live next door to each other. A Christmas Surprise celebrates the bond of friendship.

You can buy Marvin and Marigold: A Christmas Surprise here in Australia and here in the UK.
